Architect Wendy Bertani Bergmann, AIA, LEED AP has 15 years of experience designing creative and inspirational environments for various clients and project types. Wendy’s previous public work experience includes feasibility and programming studies for Northeastern Technical College, Midlands Technical College, Illinois State University, the University of South Carolina, and Clemson University. Her private sector work experience includes Phase II and Phase III Event Space Projects at 701 Whaley in Columbia, SC, The Vestry Apartments in Columbia, SC, 707 Saluda Avenue Retail Upfits in Columbia, SC, and REI Automation’s Addition and Renovation project in Columbia, SC.

 Wendy is a LEED Accredited Professional and has two family-owned businesses with her husband, David including Heartwood Furnished Homes and Soda City Suds Laundromat in Columbia, SC. Wendy received her Master of Architecture from Clemson University in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008. She is a member of the 2017-2018 class of The American Institute of Architects South Carolina Leadership Development Academy (AIASC LDA) and the 2016 Past-President for the AIA Greater Columbia Section. Wendy has volunteered and mentored for various K-12 architecture education programs in the Midlands, including the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Schools Next Competition Program for 5th – 8th grade students. Her passion for design, complemented by Wendy’s varied expertise and interests, is a tremendous asset to our design team.
